2 Killed in Burlington County Motorcycle Accident

Posted: Updated:

New Jersey State Police are investigating a motorcycle accident where two people died this afternoon in Burlington County.

The incident happened around 2 p.m. on Buzzard Hill Road between Route 72 and Shinns Road in Woodland, NJ. Police say there was a father and son riding on sport bikes when a Yamaha, driven by Joseph Randazzo, was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed. According to police, Randazzo's bike may have touched one of the bikes in front of him with his front wheel.

Randazzo, of Browns Mills, lost control and was ejected off the motorcycle, along with passenger Erin Phillips, also of Browns Mills, NJ. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary information on the accident suggests that speed may have been a factor in the accident. Police continue to investigate the accident.

This evening, a post from Pemberton Township Fire Station 1 announced the passing of the two, who were both members of Station 1.
