Police: NJ Bride-To-Be Seen On Camera Stealing Dress Worth $5K

Posted: Updated:

A wedding dress can be one of the most expensive parts of the big day, but one bride in New Jersey decided she'd just steal what she wanted.

Police in Fanwood are now looking for the woman caught on surveillance video walking out of a store with a $5,000 dress that she didn't pay for.

The woman is seen leaving the store with a toddler walking a few feet behind.

Police say the woman, who appears to be in her 30s, along with seven or eight other women and a young child entered the Seng Katore store on September 28th.

Investigators believe the plan was to distract the owner long enough to get away with the goods.

It appears the child, a 3-year-old girl, may have been used in the crime because police say she asked the store owner for a slice of pizza and a soda while the group of women tried on dresses.

You can watch the story from Fox reporter Matt Alvarez in the video above.
