Visitation for Dana Davis, vice president of basketball operations for the Memphis Grizzlies, will be held Saturday afternoon before the team's opening exhibition.
The Grizzlies announced the funeral service Thursday. Davis, 56, was found dead in his home Wednesday.
The team is inviting Davis' friends to a viewing Saturday afternoon at Mount Olive Cathedral CME Church, and his funeral will be Sunday at Mount Olive Cathedral. The Grizzlies say that donations can be made to the National Civil Rights Museum where Davis had been on the board of directors.
Davis had been with the Grizzlies the past 12 seasons overseeing player development programs and handling the team's travel, accommodations and security on the road.
The Grizzlies plan to honor Davis during the upcoming season.
