MPD says officers received at call the residence concerning a domestic assault between a brother and sister. They say officers located a 18-year-old victim on the scene who advised police that her brother, Wells, assaulted her while she was inside the home.
The victim fled the scene and Wells barricaded himself along with his daughter inside the residence, according to police.
Neighbors and friends say Wells is bipolar and schizophrenic and did not take his medication Saturday morning. Friends tell FOX 13 this hostage situation started because his girlfriend shorted him $10 for a pair of shoes she bought from him.
Neighbors living next door to the house in question say law enforcement tried to lure Wells out by putting his cell phone on the porch and also turning off the power to his house.
