Memphis, Tenn. – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has charged a Covington, Tenn. man with murder and several other charges after another Covington man's car was discovered abandoned along a highway and his body found in rural Tipton County yesterday.

Daniel Farrow, 21, of 1176 Whitehorn Road, Covington, Tenn. was arrested and charged overnight with one count of first degree felony murder, one count of tampering with evidence, one count of abuse of a corpse, and two counts of theft of property. Yesterday morning, TBI responded to a scene located at 6444 Highway 179 in Tipton County where the Tipton County Sheriff's Office discovered an abandoned vehicle containing evidence of a violent crime. It was determined that the vehicle was registered to 18‐year‐old James Jones Jr. of 1242 Whitehorn Road, Covington, Tenn. who had been reported to authorities as missing by a family member the night of September 25, 2012. Through the course of the investigation, it was revealed that Farrow shot Jones in the head the evening of September 25, 2012, put his body in the passenger side of Jones' vehicle, disposed of the victim's body in a field on the side of a road, then abandoned his car. Farrow then disposed of the gun in a field behind his residence. The victim's body was taken to the medical examiner's office for autopsy. TBI investigated the murder at the request of the 25th Judicial District Attorney General's office and conferred with the District Attorney on the appropriate charges.

Farrow was booked into the Tipton County Jail without bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned in court on October 2, 2012 at 9:00am.
