Complete with a heritage flight and honor guard, Birdies for the Brave's sixth annual golf event at TPC Southwind honored Army National Guard veteran and wounded warrior Spc. Terry Harris.
During his first deployment to Iraq in May 2010 with the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Harris suffered a traumatic brain injury from two IED explosions during a mission with his fellow soldiers.
Harris was awarded a mortgage-free home in Oakland, Tenn., from the Military Warriors Support Foundation.
Birdies for the Brave, which raises funding for military veterans, was established in 2005 and was the brainchild of PGA golfer Phil Mickelson.
