Eight-year-old Asiana Clayton was run over on Sunday afternoon near Walker and Patton in south Memphis. The driver, witnesses say, was moving at a high rate of speed.
Several of Asiana's teeth were knocked out by the impact with the car. Her leg was broken so baldy that bones were sticking out. Family members say Asiana had been jumping rope and playing hopscotch with friends across the street, and that she was on the way home for church when she was hit.
"She loves to pray for people if you are sick or something, she will close her eyes and pray. Lord, she can pray and she can sing and man, I don't know if she will be able to do none of that," says Asiana's grandmother Rosie Wilson.
Asiana is currently recovering at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.
The car that hit Asiana is described as either a black or dark green Honda. It has damage to the passenger side mirror.
If you have any information about Asiana's hit and run, call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
