Volunteers take back Detroit neighborhood

DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) -

Detroiters are rolling up their sleeves to take back their neighborhood. Instead of complaining or waiting for help, they're taking action.

Fox 2's Ronnie Dahl reports on what's being done.

One family is focusing on Lloyd Ryan Playground at the corner of Greenview and Kirkwood. The grass is so tall, you can't even see the play equipment anymore. Children have moved out and drug dealers have moved in -- but the Brierley family and others hope to change that. They're coordinating an effort to clean up the park since the city is not maintaining it.
