The Mid-South Fair has been going on since 1856, and the most recent edition of the fair opened Friday morning at the Landers Center in Southaven.

The rides are set, ready to go for a big weekend. Southaven police have a strong presence at the fair. There will be officers on detail there who you will never see.
Getting in and out of anywhere around the Landers Center and Church Road is not expected to be a hassle at all this weekend. But, that's not the case around the rest of Southaven on Friday night. One roadway that you definitely want to avoid is Rasco Road.
The Olive Branch Conquistadors are coming to town to take on the Southaven Chargers in what is being called "the Backyard Brawl."
Most of DeSoto County expected to take in a football game Friday, and the fair after that on Saturday and Sunday.
