Shelby County Election Commission Administrator Rich Holden has been placed on six-month probation after the commission decided to hold him responsible for mistakes made in the Aug. 2 primary election.
Robert Meyers, commissioner of elections, says they made the decision three weeks ago to suspend Holden for three days and place him on probation.
Meyers says during the probation the board is giving Holden additional tasks to complete. He says those tasks are to help Holden "become a better manager" and to help him prepare for the upcoming Nov. 6 general and presidential election.
