Fugitive wanted in Illinois murder caught in Memphis
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -
A 22-year-old Illinois man wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a 36-year-old Wisconsin woman was arrested Sunday afternoon in Memphis after he led police on a three-county chase through Southwest Tennessee.
Kody Walsh of Rockford, Ill., was taken into custody after he crashed his vehicle into a transformer pole on Summer Avenue and Waring Road in the Binghamton neighborhood of Memphis.
After his incarceration, it was later learned that Walsh had an active bench warrant from Illinois for his arrest.
Walsh was charged with aggravated assault, fleeing from police, theft of property, felony possession of a firearm, and destruction of property stemming from Sunday's chase from Southwest Tennessee police.
He is expected to be video arraigned in general sessions Tuesday at 9 a.m.
