DETROIT (WJBK) -

Detroit city leaders continue to cut the fire department's budget, and now there are half the fire engines on the streets compared to this time last month.

Fire Commissioner Don Austin told a group of citizens on Tuesday night that he "goes to bed every night praying not to wake up to a disaster."
