PHOENIX (AP) -- Three women has been arrested in connection with what police are calling a widespread counterfeiting and forgery operation of fake coupons linked to a Phoenix home.
40-year-old Robin Ramirez, 42-year-old Amiko Fountain ad 62-year-old Marilyn Johnson were arrested Tuesday after an eight-week investigation.
Phoenix Police Officer James Holmes says the women forged coupons that offer customers free or highly discounted items.
Ramirez, the alleged ring leader, is accused of bringing in the fake coupons from overseas and selling them on her website for 50 percent of face value.
Police confiscated $2 million worth of assets that included $240,000 in vehicles, 22 guns, a 40-foot speed boat and other assets.
It was unclear if the women had attorneys.
