Tim Skubick: Dems could get cash infusion following GOP censorship

Michigan State Rep. Lisa Brown (D-West Bloomfield). Michigan State Rep. Lisa Brown (D-West Bloomfield).

After reading this quote you will understand why the person who uttered it, did not want his or her name linked to it.

"Never tell a woman to shut-up."

In a nut shell, this GOP source nails why the "censoring" of two female lawmakers was probably a bad idea for House Republicans.

One GOP consultant did surface the other day and was much more PC about the story and if you have no idea what this is all about, please head on over to the sports section.

Steve Linder, ace fundraiser and advisor to the stars (in the GOP) checked in with an analysis that may be spot on: This is much to do about nothing visa vie the upcoming house elections.
Democrats need to pick up 13 seats from the GOP to regain control of the House and they are hoping the new infamous Rep. Lisa Brown (D-West Bloomfield) and Rep. Barb Byrum story provides another path to get there.

"I don't believe it is hurting the House Republicans. The people (who are upset with the flap over the "V" word) wouldn't vote for Republicans anyway."

However he does concede the spectacle is "energizing people" which is fundraising code for, the D's could rake into mucho dinero giving them a shot at winning close house races.
Rep. Bryum (D-Onondaga) opened the other day that it was time for an apology from the Speaker of the House Rep. Jase Bolger.

Lots of luck with that which is why she concludes, "I think they are so arrogant that they would never even think of apologizing."

So what about that Mr. Linder, does the speaker need to speak?

Veteran pol that he is, he punts. "I'm going to leave that in the hands of the speaker." Then he smiles.

Over in the GOP senate one source laments that the House mishandled this whole mess and since Mr. Linder is a close confidant of the Senate GOP leader Randy Richardville, he was asked if Mr. Richardville would have handled this situation differently?

Mr. Linder chuckled but did not answer. What he wanted to say was "yes."

Oh boy, the anti-Granholm mob will have fun with this.  They are talking in California about running the former Michigan governor for something as part of the “new generation” of D’s on the west bank.
