Monday, June 18 was declared "Kevin Turner Day" in Cherry Hill.
The former Philadelphia Eagle and Cherry Hill resident was in the area Monday for a golf tournament benefiting his foundation. Turner was diagnosed with ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease, 2 years ago. The disease is thought to be directly related to injuries suffered during his NFL playing career. Cherry Hill honored Turner for his community work and continued fight to find a cure for the disease.
