It was around 2:00 p.m. Tuesday. The park was packed. A third grade class was on a field trip. A teacher noticed a young man acting odd and then he approached a little girl on the playscape.
"Kid approximately 20 years old rode up on his bicycle and kissed the third grader. One of the teachers noticed and the kid took off on his bike," a man told us.
He is one of the parents that received a letter earlier this week informing them of the disturbing incident that happened at Farmstead Park. Around 70 third graders from nearby Jack Harvey Elementary were at the park for an end of the school year celebration. A teacher noticed a guy on a bike. He was acting a little strange like he could be mentally slow. When a basketball bounced into the parking lot, he picked it up, threw it back to the kids, then approached a little girl and kissed her on the lips.
The park is a neighborhood favorite. It has it all -- basketball, swings and the best monkey bars. A place to have fun has turned into a place to worry until the man is caught.
The guy police are looking for is described as a white male around 18 to 20 years old. He is about six feet tall, 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a tan shirt, khaki shorts and had a small black backpack. He was riding a dark colored ten speed bicycle, leading police to believe he may live near the park.
Police tell us the teacher did the right thing that day at the park getting the guy away from the kids, but they need to find him and figure out why he did what he did so they can keep him from doing it to any other little kids.
