promotions. Internships are non-paid and for academic credit only. Qualified applicants must provide an official
letter from an accredited college or university confirming that he/she will
receive course credit if selected for our internship program. Internships do not necessarily lead to
employment with WHBQ Fox 13.

journalism or a related or equivalent field.
Interns must be able to work at least 24 hours per week and have the
ability to set a schedule to meet the academic credit requirements of your

Full Time): Utilize Grass Valley Kalypso switcher to direct live newscasts,
newsbreaks, programs and specials. Prepare show rundowns in I-News to coordinate all shots and cues. Lead camera
crews, audio operator, and floor direct as needed.
A minimum of two years' experience directing and/or technical directing on-air for live news programming required. Experience with a Grass Valley Kalypso switcher is required. Ability to operate a broad range of production equipment, including character generators, audio consoles and master control equipment is desired. Lighting design experience is also a plus. Must be a leader who is pro-active, creative, takes initiative, reacts quickly, projects a positive attitude, and keeps their composure during stressful situations. College degree preferred.
This full time position is responsible for coordinating all activities in the Studios and production areas of the station. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, cueing and prompting the on-air talent during all newscasts and studio productions. Oversee the staging, lighting and general appearance of the studios. During live or recorded programming, the Production Assistant will take direction from the Show Director. Candidate will also operate the teleprompt system and set and/or change lighting and lighting cues as required for the shows. Audio engineering experience is a plus.
Four year college degree preferred.
Position requires the handling of multiple demands with professionalism and
results. The ability to work under pressure and work in a cohesive team
environment is a must. This person must have clear verbal skills and a patient,
positive demeanor. Must be willing to work nights and weekends and be
able to lift 25 to 50lbs.
MultiMedia Journalist (MMJ)
Responsible for collecting information and
dispatching crews to breaking and developing news stories. Gathers and
receives information on breaking and developing news stories in a timely
manner; must urgently discern newsworthiness of the information and assist in
developing a coverage plan for on-air and web. Research, interview story
subjects, write in broadcast style with brevity and clarity, edit in a
non-linear environment and present news stories on the air with a professional
and engaging delivery. Must be able to develop story ideas independently,
without input or assistance from managers or the assignment desk. Possess
strong on-camera skills in all aspects; live, in-studio and tape. Use
creative techniques to present meaningful stories.
Bachelor's degree preferably with an emphasis in
journalism. Extensive experience in broadcast reporting. Experience
with non-linear editing equipment. Experience with photojournalism
Install and maintain television
broadcast equipment. Troubleshoot to component level. Operate automated Master
Control system on occasion. Support broadcast operations. Maintain physical
plant. On call duty required in rotation with other Engineers for studio
equipment and exclusively for transmitter equipment. Serve as Alternate Chief
Operator for FCC compliance purposes.
Requires solid foundation in
electronic, with particular skill in troubleshooting circuits. Requires knowledge
of high-power RF transmitting systems and experience maintaining transmitters.
Should be familiar with FCC rules and ATSC specifications. Must meet physical
requirements traditionally required by this position (some overhead lifting is
for generating revenue from new and existing accounts through effective selling
techniques. The Account Executive will coordinate and maintain all sales
related activities for assigned accounts, and Prepare and conduct presentations
for the development of digital and new business. Additionally, the AE is
Responsible for maintaining knowledge of the market's ratings and programming
to effectively interact with the buying community. Other related duties as
assigned. Industry experience is preferred. Candidate must possess a strong
desire to win attitude. Written and automation software and a college
