One person was severely burned after fire broke out at the Valero refinery in South Memphis Thursday afternoon.
The fire started at approximately 2:00pm. One person was transported to The Med burn unit in critical condition with burns to 45% of his body. Two other victims were injured, but not seriously hurt. No firefighters were injured in this incident.
According to Lt. Wayne Cook with the Memphis Fire Department, the fire was contained to an outside area but it is still unclear what chemicals where involved.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
