It has taken years for this Bargain Thursday to come to fruition. The Habitat for Humanity ReStore closed in 2008, but Thursday morning it re-opened in a bigger and better location. FOX13's Valerie Calhoun shows why so many bargain-hunters were waiting at the door.
Dozens of people poured through the doors when Memphis' new Habitat ReStore opened Thursday morning.
"I heard about it on the news and I am going to find a bargain!" exclaimed shopper Martha Davis.
You could feel the excitement in the air as people pushed, pulled or dragged their prize to the front of the store.
"I found a blender for $6 and a chopper, $5," said shopper Sandra Harris. "Can't beat it. Love it!"
The Habitat ReStore is a bargain hunter's paradise. You'll find virtually anything you need to refurnish or refurbish your home or apartment, including the kitchen sink. You save up to 80% off new and used items from kitchenware to wood flooring.
This store is extra-special for Joann Wilkerson. She moved into her first home one week ago, a home built by Habitat for Humanity. "I'm contributing back what was given to me."
What you buy here helps build a future and shelter for people like Joanne, who have never had a place to call home.
