One Dead in Southeast Memphis Shooting

Three young men were shot and one is dead after an apparent armed robbery Saturday night in southeast Memphis.

The shooting happened just before 11:00pm Saturday night on Miller Glen Way. After hearing the gunshots, neighbors living across the street said they ran outside and saw the three men inside the car had been shot. The driver, 21-year old Imri Gilmore, died on the scene.

Two friends of Gilmore in the car with him were also shot. Both have since been treated and released from the hospital.

Neighbor Michelle Foster said the boys were friends of her daughter's, and had attended a gathering at her home earlier that day. Her sister attempted to administer CPR to Gilmore before paramedics arrived.

Foster said the two survivors were able to give her a description of the suspects, which were "dressed in all black with ski masks." Foster did not see the suspects herself. "When I came out the door I wasn't focused on my surroundings. My focus was making sure those kids were okay," she said.

Police reports said there were at least two suspects with guns. Foster said one of the shooting victims told her the armed men were in a white SUV.
