Prosecutors in Memphis say a grand jury has returned more indictments resulting from an investigation into allegations of voter fraud during a 2006 elections in Shelby County.
The grand jury indicted 50-year-old Dale Brown and 41-year-old Kelvin Green on one count each of illegal registration or voting and they were arrested Thursday.
According to prosecutors, Brown was convicted of aggravated assualt in 1985, but voted in the statewide primary and county general election in 2006. Prosecutors said that Green also voted in the election after being convicted of driving while being a habitual motor vehicle offender in 1997.
District Attorney General Bill Gibbons said the indictments do not allege that any candidate or campaign organization was involved in voter fraud.
