After an outpouring of concern from Fox13 viewers, a 670 pound man looking for a new start may get the help he needs.
Friday, FOX13 revisited Charles Wolfe, handing him a dozen emails and phone numbers of people who saw his story, and would like to try and get him to Birmingham for weight loss surgery.
Wolfe, a former truck driver, now disabled by medical problems associated with his weight, doesn't drive or have a way to make his operation date later this month.
But after our story aired yesterday we put him in contact with a couple from Memphis who wanted to drive him both ways. They're setting up a meeting before deciding if they're plan will work.
"It's got me feeling a lot better. A whole lot happier. It's surprising how people really care about somebody. They're not looking at who they are, what they look like, race, anything like that," said Wolfe.
Wolfe said he's contacting everyone who wrote us or called; in case he needs their help too.
