Joe Ford's legal trouble comes after documentation shows Las Savell spent months trying collect payment before getting the police involved.
The police affidavit in the case states Las Savell made 7 phone calls and sent 2 collection letters before the jewelry store handed the case over to authorities.
Ford received a call from an investigator June 9th, 2011, and the affidavit said Ford assured the investigator he would come in and pay the debt on June 13th. That date came and went.
Then another phone call was made September 14th for another in-person payment at the store September 16th, but Ford never showed.
This all happened after Las Savell subpoenaed Ford's account to see if he had the money when he initially wrote the nearly $6,000 check.
