Southaven Aldermen met on Tuesday evening to discuss the salary and duties of Mayor Greg Davis.
"With the problems we have had, it is something we do need to look at," said Alderman Ronnie Hale.
This comes after the Board's last meeting, where they voted in favor of asking Davis to resign. While the Board can vote to reduce Davis' salary, they cannot vote to force him out of office.
Davis, who is currently out on medical leave, had his attorney read a statement asking for privacy, though the statement mentioned nothing about the Board's request for his resignation.
Davis has spent the last few months in the spotlight after an audit exposed some $170,000 in expenses the State says were personal and billed to taxpayers.
"We want to make sure the representation for the city, from the Mayor's Office, is the best it can be and if not, then delegate the authority to someone else," said Hale.
