Pashea Fisher and her parents were the victims of a deadly incident in a home on the 1600 block of Preston early Thursday morning. All were shot dead.
Family members say 27-year-old Sedrick Clayton was in the bathroom with Fisher, the mother of his 4-year-old daughter, Jordan.
According to family members, Clayton and Fisher were arguing about a condom Clayton found in their bedroom.
Clayton's sister, Tawana Brown, told Fox 13 news that Pashea's father, Arithio Fisher, burst into the bathroom during the argument.
"The dad, I guess, took it upon himself to think that he was in there hurting her, so he kicked in a door and kicked my brother in the chest," said Brown.
She says that's when the shooting starting, ending in Pashea, her father, and mother all being shot dead.
Clayton then took his daughter and fled the home in Fisher's Cadillac escalade.
According to Brown, "She (Jordan) seen it and he said he wasn't going to take Jordan with him, but when she ran outside she said, "daddy, I wana go with you.' and he said he couldn't help but to take her with him."
"He (Clayton) just said, "I can't believe I did that.' He said, 'I wasn't trying to hurt no body," claimed Brown.
"They lost their momma and daddy and the baby lost her mother, and she's fixin' to lose her father," said Clayton's brother, Sid.
Tawana got a call from her brother, after he left the house on Preston, telling her what happened.
After the initial shock, she gave him the only advice she could, "I told him, when he calmed himself down to turn himself in. Because I felt like the way he told me, he was defending himself. So I wanted him to do the right thing, regardless of what happened or what happens to him."
The Clayton family is shocked beyond belief.
"Never been in any trouble. Never been in jail. None of that. Never," said Sid.
He was known to his family as "baby brother." Sedrick lived with his now dead girlfriend, the two moving between parent's houses with Jordan.
"He is a nice person. I love him. That's my baby brother and I'm real, real close to him. That's why it's upsetting me so. Cause he don't be in no trouble," said Tawana.
As one would expect, there is plenty of speculation as to what might have actually happened. Family members that spoke with Fox 13 did say there had been tension between the two.
But, they never dreamed that tension would leave three people dead.
"Something had to tick him off. And it had to be real bad for him to do that. Because the Sedrick I know… the brother i know, he wouldn't have never did that," claimed Tawana.
Both families are now left with more questions than answers.
Sedrick Clayton did follow his sister's advice and turned himself in to Memphis Police. He stands charged with three counts of First Degree Murder.
