RAIN RETURNS FRIDAY…HOW LONG WILL IT STAY?

A large area of low pressure will develop in the Gulf of Mexico tonight and will gradually spread rain our way throughout the day Friday.

TIMING: Rain will begin south of Atlanta late in the morning and will continue to spread north throughout the day. The rain will initially be on the light side with heavier bands of rain arriving by Friday evening. While most of the rain will move east into the Carolinas on Saturday some wrap around moisture will keep clouds and spotty showers here in north Georgia through mid-day on Saturday.

AMOUNTS: Rain totals will be heaviest in areas south of Atlanta with the possibility of 2-3" the closer you get to Macon. Farther north toward Atlanta expect 1 to 1.5" of rain, and then under an inch of rain in areas north of Atlanta.

EASTER: Clearing skies will develop late Saturday and overnight into Sunday morning allowing for a beautiful sunrise for Easter services. Temperatures in the morning will be in the mid to upper 40s with highs in the afternoon in the mid 70s.
