LOS ANGELES (AP) - A judge says former NFL All-Pro safety Darren Sharper cannot be held without bail indefinitely in a sex assault case in Los Angeles. However, the judge gave Louisiana prosecutors more time to indict him before allowing his release in California.
NEW YORK (AP) - Milwaukee Bucks forward Ersan Ilyasova has been suspended one game without pay for punching Sacramento forward Reggie Evans in the stomach. The punch happened in the fourth quarter of Milwaukee's 116-102 loss to the Kings on Wednesday when the two players became entangled while battling for rebounding position.
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU kicker James Hairston plans to transfer after his scheduled graduation in May and is expected to kick next season for another school. Hairston says he appreciated the opportunity to be part of LSU's "fabulous program for three years," and that he intends to pursue a master's elsewhere and hopes to kick field goals.
