Who Can Enter
1. Entrants must be legal Tennessee, Arkansas or Mississippi residents who are between 15 years of age and 28 years of age as of June 26, 2011.
2. Employees of Fox Television Stations, Inc., owner of television station WHBQ, FOX Broadcasting Company, Q107.5, Wolfchase Galleria, News Corporation, Fox Interactive Media, AMERICAN IDOL Productions, Inc., 19 TV Ltd., 19 Merchandising Ltd., CKX, Inc., and Freemantle Media North America, Inc. (collectively, “Sponsor”), their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible.
How to Enter
3. No purchase is necessary to enter. Only one entry per person.
4. To enter, contestants must bring proof of age (i.e. Driver’s License, State Issued ID, Birth Certificate, Passport), a non-returnable picture of themselves, and a signed release form provided at www.myfoxmemphis.com to Wolfchase Galleria, 2760 N. Germantown Pkwy, Memphis, TN 38133 on August 19, 2011. Contestants are not permitted to line up before 7:00 a.m. local time, and must be prepared to sing one (1) song of the contestant’s choice a cappella. No musical instruments allowed. Contestants will be asked to sing their song choice for at least 30 seconds and no more than one minute. Judges will begin seeing contestants at 9:00 a.m. local time.
5. Contestants will be seen on a first come first served basis. Judges (selected by Sponsor) will see as many contestants as possible until 3:00 p.m. local time. Sponsor does not guarantee that all individuals who are in line by 9:00 a.m. will be able to enter. Eight (8) Finalists will be announced at approximately 4:00 p.m. local time and will compete in the second round. Each Finalist will sing a song of their choice for at least 30 seconds and no more than one minute. Finalists will be judged based on their performance in the finalist round only; preliminary round scores do not carry over to the Finals. One (1) winner will be selected by the Judges at approximately 5:15 p.m. local time. Finalists and the winner will be selected by the Judges based on singing ability, personality, and appearance. In the event of a tie in either round, the Judges will each cast their vote for one of the tied contestants and the contestant with the most votes will prevail.
6. All contestants must be present for the announcement of the 8 Finalists. If a contestant is not present at the time of the announcement, Sponsor will select the contestant with the next highest score.
The Prize(s)
7. The winner will receive a guaranteed audition in front of an American Idol producer at Reliant Park in Houston, Texas on August 26, 2011. Winner must be eligible to audition under the published American Idol audition rules provides at www.americanidol.com and comply with all rules and guidelines set forth by American Idol producers. The winner will not audition in front of any American Idol Judge or any American Idol Guest Judge during the audition and will not receive preferential treatment for callbacks. The winner will also receive a $500 Gift Card from American Express. Prize provided by Wolfchase Galleria. The approximate retail value of the prize is $500; the guaranteed audition has no retail value.
8. Winner will be notified by 5:15 p.m. on August 19, 2011. Winner must complete, sign and return a Certification of Eligibility and Release, which must be received within 2 days of notification. If a winner is a minor, then the winner's parent or guardian must also sign the minor’s Certification of Eligibil¬i¬ty and Release before the winner receives his or her prize.
9. If a winner does not respond to notification or does not timely return the Certification of Eligibility and Release, that prize will be awarded to the contestant with the next highest score by the judges.
10. Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash or substituted for any other items by the winner(s). The winner(s) cannot assign or transfer prize. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a comparable prize of like or greater value, including cash, for any prize, for any reason. In the event production of American Idol is cancelled or postponed, the audition ticket portion of the prizing may be cancelled without substitution or compensation therefor.
11. The winners are responsible for paying all local, county, state, and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules.
12. Only one prize will be awarded per household. Individuals are eligible to win only one prize within any 30-day period, regardless of the number of giveaways entered.
Odds of Winning; Miscellaneous
13. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received and the individual abilities of each entrant.
14. These rules are available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at WHBQ-TV 13, 485 S. Highland, Memphis, TN 38111, and at www.myfoxmemphis.com, through August 19, 2011.
15. For a list of prize winners, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope to: WHBQ-TV 13, 485 S. Highland, Memphis, TN 38111, after August 19, 2011.
16. By entering, entrants represent that they are eligible and agree to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the judges, and to release Sponsor, its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by or arising out of this giveaway or any prize awarded.
17. This giveaway is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Sponsor is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, offering, or administration of the giveaway, or in the announcement of the prize.
