(NewsCore) - An employee at a Wal-Mart distribution center in Virginia opened fire on his manager before fatally shooting himself Wednesday, WWBT-TV reported.

The 32-year-old shooter, who had worked in the shipping department of the Dinwiddie facility for nine years, began firing his gun when he returned from his lunch break at approximately noon local time. The manager, a 40-year-old woman from Petersburg, Va., was hit in the leg, but her injury was not believed to be life threatening.

The gunman, also from Petersburg, fired shots at two Dinwiddie County Sheriff's deputies who responded to the shooting before turning the gun on himself.

Officials said there was no indication there had been a dispute between the gunman and his manager, whom authorities said has worked at the distribution center for 18 years, WWBT-TV reported. Neither the gunman nor the manager was identified.

Dinwiddie is approximately 40 miles southwest of Richmond.
