(NewsCore) - An Ohio man was arrested on a charge of felony domestic violence for putting a 3-year-old child in a clothes dryer and turning it on.

Jamial E. Bayly, 40, was also charged with a misdemeanor count of child endangerment, the Zanesville Times Recorder reported Thursday.

Guernsey County sheriff's deputies were responding to the home in Cambridge, about 80 miles east of Columbus, for a "well-being check" when they found the boy had been placed in the dryer as a form of punishment.

Bayly's relationship to the child was not immediately clear.

Deputies did not find any visible injury to the child, but Guernsey County Children Services were called to follow up.

It was unclear if Bayly had obtained a lawyer. He was convicted in 1999 of domestic violence for assaulting a 5-year-old family member, the Times Recorder reported.
