(NewsCore) - A Kentucky woman is facing criminal charges after allegedly punching her son while in the middle of an anger management class, WDRB-TV reported.

Misty Lawson, 30, was taking the class on Feb. 4 in Louisville when a counselor saw her punch the 10-year-old boy multiple times in the face and body, bruising his right cheek.

The counselor reported Lawson to the police and Child Protective Services. She was arrested Thursday and charged with fourth degree assault, a misdemeanor.

Lawson was previously arrested in June 2011 on charges of wanton endangerment and endangering the welfare of a minor for leaving two boys, ages nine and 12, in the sweltering backseat of a car while she and a man went into a store to have their pictures taken.
