(NewsCore) - General Electric Co. has chosen Colorado as the site for a $600 million solar panel factory, the Denver Post reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The state was among of group of 10 states vying for the facility, which GE announced in April that it planned to build. At the time, GE said the facility would be the biggest photovoltaic panel factory in the US. Colorado development officials said the state beat out New York for the facility.

The plant is to be built in Aurora, just outside of Denver, according to one source.
