(NewsCore) - "American Idol" season 10 winner Scotty McCreery will be recording a Keith Urban single for his upcoming album, Country Weekly reported Monday.
The bright-eyed teen, who stole the hearts of female fans on the singing competition with his deep voice and country swagger, will release his debut album "Clear As Day" October 4.
Though the album will primarily include original tracks, McCreery said the Aussie country music veteran suggested he cover a single from Urban's earlier career.
"There's technically going to be one cover," the 17-year-old revealed in an interview with the Boston Globe. "Keith Urban pitched a song my way, and it's one he did way back when he was part of the band called The Ranch. He's on tour right now so we don't know, but he said he might play guitar on the track."
The Grammy winner was a guitarist for The Ranch in the late nineties before he launched his solo career in the US in 1999.
"We're putting what I believe are the best songs we could find on it and I really hope everyone likes it," McCreery said in a statement announcing his upcoming album.
"It has some old country influences and elements, but it also has a contemporary feel with fun up-tempo songs. It's a good mixture. You can hear some of the influences that I grew up with, like Hank Williams, Conway Twitty and Merle Haggard, but it still has a contemporary twist and feel that keeps it up to date," he added.
McCreery recorded the album at studios across the US over the summer, as he toured with the top 11 "American Idol" finalists from last season.
