NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Dangerously hot weather has air conditioners humming across Tennessee.
If Memphis reaches a predicted 104 degrees Wednesday, it would break a record for the date of 1 degree cooler set one year ago.
National Weather Service forecaster Marlene Mickelson says don't leave children or pets in cars "even for a minute."
Mickelson says the effects of hot weather on people are cumulative -- the longer it stays hot, the more stress is put on our bodies.
Hot weather is expected into the weekend.
There are no cool spots in Tennessee, with Nashville and Chattanooga both expecting100 degrees Wednesday, Knoxville forecast for 96 degrees and the Tri-Cities pegged for 91 degrees.
Rain chances increase as the week goes on.
