Fayette County, Tn - A traffic stop near Stanton, Tennessee led officers to the discovery of what appears to be an illegal animal shipment.
Dave McGriff with the West Tennessee Drug Task Force says a suspicious U-Haul truck was pulled over on Tuesday.
Officers expected to find drugs, but instead found over 100 dogs jammed into the truck with no food, air, or water. Amazingly, only one of the 128 dogs was dead.
McGriff says the driver, "appeared to be in violation of state law."
Local agencies, including the Fayette County Animal Control Agency, were at the scene helping out with the animals.
Bonnie Sheeman and Pamela King-McCracken are charged with 128 counts of animal cruelty.
