A 17 year old is at the MED, recovering from a gunshot wound tonight. It's the latest in a string of Memphis shootings, involving teenagers. Now one group, tired of the violence, is trying to combat negative behavior and violence among Memphis' youth.

Friday, about 30 people gathered downtown to address a rash of teenage shootings, many seeming to spread from the classrooms, to the streets. Among those at the meeting was the family of an 18-year old high school shot and killed, Wednesday.

Isaac Brown says, "it hurts, excruciating pain you can't ignore."

Isaac's brother, Daniel Brown, was shot and killed after a dispute at Raleigh-Egypt High School. A 15-year old classmate was charged with the murder. Friday, the Browns joined others to address teenage violence as part of a group called freedom from unnecessary negatives or F.F.U.N.

Browns' sister, Lashell King says, "This is an everyday thing, somewhere or another this has to stop."

Stevie Moore, the founder of F.F.U.N says the meeting was for solutions only. Many raised their hands when he asked if anyone had a loved one killed by gunfire. Moore says he has a list of 14 "high incident" schools he plans to target, in an effort to reduce violence. He wants to put 10 to 15 people at the school to watch students before and after class. The schools include Raleigh Egypt, Kirby High and Melrose High.

Moore says, "everybody fights, we wonder why our children fight...They have a good place to learn from...adults.

Moore's son was shot and killed in 2003. He says the idea of putting eyes on the street after school, worked in 1995.

Moore says, "We reduced crime at that school by 90 %."

The Brown family hopes the community will take a stand and do more than just talk.

Lashell King says, "There were families before us, there will be families after us."
