MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Investigators are on the scene of a police shooting at the Jericho, Ark., courthouse. Authorities say an officer was shot in the finger and another man was hit in the back.
Several individuals were asked to appear at the Jericho courthouse on Thursday night because of traffic tickets. The judge dismissed all of the tickets that had been written over the past month because he said the citations were bogus.
A teenager had a ticket dismissed, and his dad, Don Payne, came into the courtroom and started arguing with police. A fight broke out inside the courtroom and an officer fired his weapon, hitting Payne and an officer.
Payne was the individual struck in the back, and he was transported to the Med. His condition is unknown at this time.
