On Thursday at about 3:00 PM, deputies with the Tipton County Sheriffs Office received a call concerning the rape of a 25-year old female that had been released by the suspect and called for help.

Deputies confirmed that the suspect had left the Drummonds area in the victim's car. The victim reported that a male approached her in the parking lot of the Millington Wal-Mart, said he had a gun and to get in the car. The victim complied and was driven to a remote area of the Drummonds Community near Duvall Landing on Sullivan Road. The victim was sexually assaulted, robbed of her money, cell phone and vehicle. The victim was transported to Baptist Memorial-Tipton hospital where she was treated for minor injuries and released.

Deputies in the area located the victim's vehicle being driven by a male which matched the description of the suspect, traveling on Richardson Landing Road. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, which refused and was pursued approximately 20 miles ending on Sullivan Road. The driver of the vehicle drove off the roadway and traveled through a field and then fled on foot.

Deputies captured the driver and he was taken into custody. The driver was identified as Anthony Lenny Delauro, 20, of 150 Barnett Bluff Road in Drummonds, TN. During the pursuit, Delauro did sideswiped one citizen vehicle and multiple Sheriffs Office units. Deputies involved in the incident were not injured.

Delauro was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton for minor injuries. He was treated, released and transported to the Tipton County Correctional Facility. Detectives have formally charged Delauro with Evading Arrest, Reckless Driving, Driving While Unlicensed, Aggravated Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Assault of a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Rape, Aggravated Robbery, Theft of Property Under $500.00, Theft of an Automobile, 2 counts of Vandalism, various misdemeanor traffic violations.
