2 Robbers Shot in East Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -  

On Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at approximately 3:00pm, officers received an attempt armed robbery call to the Hobson Building located at 5384 Poplar Avenue.

Upon arriving on the scene, officers located two male Hispanics with apparent gunshot wounds. The two male Hispanics are allegedly responsible for an attempt robbery of an individual.

Victim, Stephen Fleischman, male white, 62yo advised officers that he was in the parking lot of 5384 Poplar Avenue when a vehicle approached him. Victim advised that four suspects exited the vehicle an attempted to rob him. Two of the four suspects were armed with a gun.

Victim advised that he pulled his gun and shot two of the four suspects. The victim did have a handgun carry permit.

The two suspects that were shot by the victim were transported to the Med in critical condition. The other two suspects fled the scene in a possible white Ford Fusion.
