MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphis Light Gas and Water is launching their Reconnect Plan to help those with high utility bills stay cool during the summer heat wave.
The utility announced Thursday customers can start signing up for the program Friday, July 15, and estimates that over 1,700 households could benefit from the program.
MLGW will charge $275 to re-establish service regardless of what is owed, and the customer would be entered into a deferred payment plan for up to 5 months.
Customers can call 544-6549 or go to one of the Community Offices to sign up for the program, which will be available throughout the current heat wave.
