Memphis, Tn - A North Mississippi police officer has found a way to put a unique spin on drug education. Double A, Arthur Avant, is going to great lengths to get his message out to students.

"Oh they love it, they love it, they are the only reason I do this, is because it's for them...I'm not a rapper, but I'll rap for them," says Avant.

He's spent 14 years on as a Sergeant on Senatobia's police force, and 10 of that he's been a policeman of lyrical prose and poetry, rappin' a drug free message for the children.

"Be drug free, just like me, a life be drug free, you will be happy, be successful, be prosperous be a great citizens you can think for yourself, and you just say no, that is the message."

Avant's recorded 11 songs and raps to packed gymnasiums.

"Last year I did 13 concerts about 4 thousand to five thousand children a year, before that I did 15 concerts, 7 thousand, all over the state of Mississippi."

He started the program over a decade ago, because he found some DARE programs just didn't keep the kids attention.

"That's what it's all about, it's for them to enjoy life you're drug free, live your life drug free your body's drug free, you can do a lot of things by them staying away from those drugs."
