Southaven, Ms - A crowd of angry Southaven citizens greeted the return of embattled Mayor Greg Davis to the Board of Alderman meeting on Tuesday night.

Around 150 people gathered at Southaven City Hall, many of them shouting that the Mayor should resign.

The call for his resignation comes after an audit revealed that they Mayor had misused around $170,000 in city funds, spending taxpayer money on things like vacations, parties, liquor, and lavish dinners. So far, Davis has paid back about $96,000 of what he owes, most of that coming from donations from Southaven citizens.

Tuesday's meeting was ultimately delayed to the large crowd demanding to be able to see and hear the meeting. It resumed when a video monitor was set up to deal with the overflow.

The Board of Aldermen were not immune to the criticism either, with citizens upset at the officials for "rubber stamping" everything that the Mayor wanted.

Davis is also the subject of an FBI criminal investigation, but no charges have been filed at this point.

Despite a call from the Board of Alderman for Davis to step down, he has publicly stated that he has no intention of doing so.

Davis left Tuesday's meeting without speaking to the media.
