DUNCAN, Miss. - 200 law enforcement officers are searching in and around Bolivar County, Mississippi for the man police say shot and killed a 4-year-old and her grandmother.

42-year-old Harvey Lewis was last seen in a 1994 blue-gray Chevrolet S-10 with Quitman County tags.

Bolivar County Deputy Coroner Murray Roark says a FedEx driver found the bodies next to a pickup truck on U.S. Highway 61 just north of the tiny town of Duncan about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Both were shot once in the head. The grandmother’s hands were bound with plastic ties.

The bodies have been sent to Jackson for an autopsy.

The child’s mother is in protective custody.

Yesterday, the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Department was looking for Lewis after a protective order was issued against him.

Lewis moved to Mississippi from California sometime in the last few years.

He was charged with assaulting a police officer several years ago in Mississippi.

FOX 13 has a crew in Bolivar County and will have more on this developing story.
