Crumbling concrete, mangled metal and destroyed buildings in Byhalia serve as a reminder of Friday's devastating storm that sucker punched the Mid-South.
Those near by say the sound was unmistakable.

"Kinda like a train but it wasn't as loud as a train." says one Byhalia resident.
Sarah Sawyer was at her front door when a 100 year old tree came crashing down before her eyes."

Sawyer says, "It fell I just jumped ran jumped back and spun around."
As construction crews continue to ax their way through the wood, power crews survey and fix damaged poles and downed wires.

In Olive Branch the cleanup continues after a confirmed F2 tornado touched down near the heart of the city.
Olive Branch Mayor Sam Rikard says, "We'll be working some overtime till we get it done."

One home was destroyed after it took a direct hit from the twister.
Across the street neighbors begin a long and tedious task.
Off 305 at Old Style BBQ they say that same tornado knocked down their famous sign and rocked their foundation.
Leaving hundreds of bricks in the path of reopening.

Rick Dlugach says, "They got our power back on at 2pm I've got my all my crew back here this morning cleaning and getting it ready plan to be open first thing in the morning."
