Greenville Police Make Arrest in Slaying

GREENVILLE, Miss. - An arrest has been made in the slaying of 19-year-old Cordero Gilmore and police in Greenville are now investigating a related arson case.

Authorities say someone set fire to the Kordarial Hughes' house while he was in jail following Friday's arrest. Hughes is charged with murder.

Greenville Police Lt. Misty Litton said the fire was set on Saturday while Hughes was in custody. There were no injuries in the blaze.

Police say Gilmore was shot in the chest Friday outside Hughes' home.

Washington County Coroner Methel Johnson said Gilmore was pronounced dead at 4:41 p.m. Friday at Delta Regional Medical Center.
