Memphis, TN - FOX13’s Joey Sulipeck is known for accurate forecasts and dashing bow ties.
"I like that classic, clean, southern look. It's timeless and it’s different and I just like the look,l" Sulipeck said.
Chancery Court Judge Joseph Golden always wears a bow tie as well.
"Anyone can weaer a neck tie, but not just anyone can wear bow tie. It just gives you a little panache," Golden
"The bow tie is worn by a very confident man, one who is very flamboyant," Tom Shelton of Shelton clothiers said.
What ties Sulipeck and the judge is not just the garment but a new designer. He is new to the fashion world and he is young.
He is 10-year-old Moziah Bridges, designer and proprietor of Mo’s Bows.
“The first bow tie I made was a polka dot one,” Bridges said. “I like a bow tie because it speaks to me.”
Although his mom still helps him get dressed now and then, Moziah, or Mo, is a well dressed young man with a sense of flair.
Bridges is exacting when it comes to his designs. He chooses colors and patterns from his grandmother’s fabric collection that dates back 50 years.
Each tie takes about 30 minutes from start to finish. All are hand made and one of a kind.
"It's kind of unique to have a young designer," Bridges said.
Moziah sells his ties at Tom Shelton of Shelton Clothiers, an upscale haberdasher in Memphis. Shelton was so impressed with Bridges, he decided to mentor him.
"There is a spark there but it needs to be fanned. He could lose interest really easy but I don’t want him too. I want him to stick with it.," Shelton said.
Moaziah has other interests as well. He loves playing Nintendo and soccer as well as performing on stage.
But none are as important as his career.
