Memphis, Tn - Outside the Rose Hill Cemetery in South Memphis on Wednesday it was plain to see trash that needed to be picked up.

That's why some Shelby County inmates who meet certain standards are being used to clean up garbage in cluttered parts of town.

That's where 25-year-old Tommy Lee Hodges was when he walked away last month.

Hodges was serving time for a 2009 burglary conviction.

Not considered a violent offender, Hodges would have been eligible for parole in April. Now, he faces felony escape charges.
