Memphis Officer Shoots 2 Robbery Suspects; 1 Dead

Memphis, TN - Authorities say a police officer has shot two burglary suspects at a Memphis-area apartment complex, killing one and critically wounding the other.

Memphis police spokeswoman Alyssa Macon-Moore said that officers came upon the suspects and saw them putting items into their vehicle on Friday morning near apartments in the community of Raleigh.

When officers approached the suspects on foot, they tried to run the officers over with their vehicle. Macon-Moore said one of the officers shot into the vehicle.

One suspect died on the scene. Another was taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition.

Police have not released identities of the two suspects.
