Man Charged with Raping Elderly Woman

Memphis, Tn - A South Memphis man faces serious prison time for an especially heinous crime.

29-year-old Marco Blanch was convicted today of raping an elderly Alzheimer's patient.

He let himself into the 79-year-old's house last year went into her bedroom and began having sex with her.

Blanch claimed it was consensual, but prosecutors say the victim didn't have the ability to consent or even understand what was happening to her.

Blanch, who faces 8 to 12 years, will be sentenced next month.
