Memphis, Tn - Thursday, at the trial of two cousins accused of being hitmen for drug lord Craig Petties, a man who admitted to stealing a large amount of cocaine, inciting a multi-state shootout, took the stand.
Now at 30-years-old, Bobby Craft is a rapper, admittedly singing songs that glorify the drug life which he was once part of under the Craig Petties organization.
In September 2006 however, Craft testified to turning on Petties and his people by stealing 168 kilos, or nearly 4 million dollars in cocaine.
While picking up his son in Memphis days later, Craft says they came for him, trying to block him in with their cars, defendants Clinton and Martin Lewis included.
Prepared for what he was up against, Craft says he pulled out a semi automatic handgun and pistol and began shooting in all directions.
He says even with shots being fired in their direction, he and his 6-year-old son made it out alive.
But with 300 rounds on him, Craft says he and the others continued their shootout for almost 50 miles, from Memphis to Forrest City, Arkansas.
Craft ultimately got away and stayed in Arkansas where he'd already sold the cocaine he'd stolen.
He almost had $1.2 million of his stolen drug fortune stolen after a road block near Helena, Arkansas.
Though Craft says he lied and said it was inheritance from his dead father.
So, Craft got most of his cash back and used it to buy two homes, at least four cars, and two 50 karat diamond necklaces.
